Welcome to Phil Daly for Alameda County Superior Court Judge!
Phil is a life-long resident of Alameda County, and has worked tirelessly to serve and protect our community. Now he asks for your support as he runs for Judge of the Alameda County Superior Court in order to continue his mission to provide a fair and just legal system for everyone.
For over 22 years Phil has protected our community as a Deputy District Attorney for the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.
Phil has helped keep our streets safe by prosecuting hundreds of felony cases in Alameda County Courts, including domestic violence, sexual assault, murder and identity theft. Phil served in the District Attorney’s “career criminal” unit, making sure the worst offenders were held accountable for their crimes against citizens in Alameda County.
Phil has also served in the District Attorney’s Consumer Fraud and Environmental Protection Division, where he investigated and prosecuted complex white-collar criminal cases against those who preyed on our community, including the elderly. Phil’s tireless efforts have given voice to those who have been wronged, including much needed monetary restitution for many victims.
It is the years of experience in our community that makes Phil uniquely qualified to be a Judge for the Alameda County Superior Court. Phil’s broad range of experience has earned him the endorsement of many well-respected county and state officials, Alameda County Judges, and private citizens.
Phil is proud to have been born and raised in Alameda County. Phil attended local public schools, and graduated from California State University, Hayward (now Cal State University, East Bay). Phil received his law degree from the University of California Hastings College of the Law.
Phil has quietly yet consistently served Alameda County throughout his professional career.
Phil currently sits as a Commissioner for the San Leandro Board of Zoning Adjustments. Phil also has served on the City of San Leandro Vision Task Force and the Committee for San Leandro’s Future.
Phil served over 15 years as a member of the Alameda County Democratic Central Committee, including two years as Vice-Chair of the Committee. Phil also served on the California Democratic Party Central Committee.
Phil has served on the Board of Directors for the Southern Alameda County Bar Association, and as a volunteer judge for the McCollum Youth Court, an alternative, community-based program for first-time juvenile offenders.
Phil is married with three children, and has one grandchild.
The residents of Alameda County deserve and expect judges who are honest, competent and fair. Additional Judges Endorse Phil!
July 24: Phil continues to gather momentum towards victory in the November election with the endorsement of an additional SEVEN Alameda County Superior Court Judges and Commissioners. Phil is honored to have the support of: Judge Larry Goodman, Judge Allan Hymer, Judge Stephen Pulido, Judge Thomas Reardon, Judge Trina Thompson, Judge Patrick Zika, and Commissioner Geoffrey Carter.
Counting the endorsements last month by: Judge Cecilia Castellanos, Judge Robert Kurtz, Judge Barbara Miller (Presiding Judge 2004-2005), Judge Gary M. Picetti, and Judge Jon R. Rolefson (Assistant Presiding Judge 2008-Present), Phil has garnered 12 additional endorsements from sitting Judicial Officers since the primary election. Phil is honored to now have the endorsement of 38 current and retired Alameda County Judges and Commissioners, most of any candidate for Alameda County Superior Court Judge.

Public Safety Officers Support Phil. Phil is honored to have received the endorsement of the Berkeley Police Association. Phil is a lifelong resident of Alameda County. Phil shares the values of our community. Raised in San Leandro, a product of local schools, and a proud alumni of Cal State Hayward (now Cal State East Bay), Phil has dedicated his whole life to working and fostering a sense of community spirit and public safety in our community. Phil’s roots in Alameda County -- which include his wife, three children, and one grandchild -- are the result of a lifetime of supporting fairness, equality, justice, and safety for all of the citizens of Alameda County. |

Deputy District Attorney: Alameda County. Alameda County, California
Represent People of the State of California in criminal cases. Worked in all Alameda County Courts. Prosecuted hundreds of cases including domestic violence sexual assault, homicide, identity theft, insurance fraud, white collar crime, and career criminal cases. Currently prosecute fraud cases. (1985 to present)

Represented indigents charged with crimes. Firm contracted with Napa County to provide public defender services. (1984-1985)
